MELBOURNE, Fla. – Twenty-seven women’s soccer student-athletes have earned All-SSC honors this season. Conference champions, Barry University, boast nine All-SSC awards including the Coach of the Year. Voting for the awards was conducted among the league’s women’s soccer coaches.
Sierra Lelii of Nova Southeastern University was selected Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the year. The Seminole, Florida native scored 18 goals and assisted on three others in 16 regular season games for the Sharks.
NSU’s Cydney Niedermeyer was named Defensive Player of the Year. The Fort Myers, Florida native led the Sharks defense that held opponents to 1.3 goals per game and 6.4 shots on goal per game. With the play of Niedermeyer, Nova Southeastern shutout opponents five times in 2015.
