DADE CITY, Fla. - Round two of the 2023 Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Championship is complete, and national No. 1 Lynn University has opened up a 15-stroke lead over the field. Play resumes at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club on Tuesday, April 18th at 7:45 a.m.

Women's Round 2 Recap
After ending round one in second place, Nova Southeastern's Olivia Gronborg took over first place after posting a 70 (-2). Her score was tied with Barry University's Eve Marie Sapin for the lowest score of the second round. Gronborg has shot a 5-under (139) through two rounds and holds a two stroke lead over Lynn's Camila Madariaga. First round leader Sara Ericsson dropped to third place after shooting a 74 (+2) on Monday. Rollins Colleges' Katharina Hesse finished the day in fourth place, while Lynn's Maria Hoyos and Rollins' Carla Alvarez Perez finished the round tied for fifth.

Lynn matched their opening round 288 (E) to open up a 15-stroke lead over second-place Rollins. Three of the Fighting Knights ended the day in the top five, while four of their players ended in the top seven. Led by Hesse and Bernardita Villalba who each shot 73 (+1) in round two, Rollins moved into second place. They are three strokes ahead of third-place Saint Leo University (594, +18). The University of Tampa is in fourth (595, +19) and Nova Southeastern (599, +23) rounds out the top five.

Lynn has done most of their damage on par 4s and par 5s. On par 4s, they have shot a combined +8 for the tournament, which is nine strokes better than the second-best mark which belongs to Rollins. Lynn is also shooting -3 on par 3s. The only other team under par on such holes is Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (-2).
Barry University is shooting -1 on par 3s for the tournament. They are the only team under par on such holes.
Lynn leads the field in pars and birdies, and they are one of five teams to have posted an eagle. The other four teams are Nova Southeasern, Rollins, Tampa, and Eckerd College.
Gronborg leads the field in par 5 scoring. She is five-under through two rounds. Ericsson and her teammate Isabelle Schlick are each shooting even-par on par 4s. Six golfers are shooting -2 on par 3s.
