Lynn Men's Golf Leads the Field after Two Rounds of SSC Championship Play
LARGO, Fla. - The rain stayed away, and two rounds of championship golf were played at Bayou Country Club on Monday, April 19. The Lynn Fighting Knights hold a five-shot lead over the Barry Buccaneers and Tampa Spartans after 36-holes of play.
The field averaged 76.96 and 75.46 during the first two rounds, respectively, at the Bayou Club, which stand as the two most difficult rounds in the SSC tournament since 2016. Day two begins at 8:00 AM and brings the final 18 holes of play. Round three pairings are available here.
CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
Lynn and Barry were deadlocked at five-over (293) following round one of play. Lynn went on to shoot two-over (288) as a team in round two and sit in first-place seven-over (583). Tampa recorded the tournament-low round of even-par (288) in round two to move from fifth into a second-place tie with Barry.
TEAM LEADERBOARD
Tampa's Aadam Syed is the clubhouse leader after two rounds of play. Syed followed an even-par, 72 with a sizzling four-under, 68, the only round in the sixties thus far. A pair of Fighting Knights, Jorge Villar, and Agustin Errazuriz, are tied for second at two-under. Barry's Nicolas Quintero joins the under-par ranks at 1-under and is currently fourth. Just over par, there is a four-way tie for fifth place at one-over.

Men's Tournament Notes
- 2021 will bring a new champion, and UT has never had an SSC title winner.
- The most challenging hole during round one was the par-3 fifth, where players shot .64 over par, including 26 bogeys or worse. Golfers met their match during round two at holes one and six, where the average card played .60 over par.
- Only holes 17 and 18 have yielded scores of under par in the tournament.
- This is the first time that the SSC championship has been held at Bayou Country Club.
