West Palm Beach, Fla. - (Results: Men | Women) - Embry-Riddle men's and Saint Leo women's teams claim the 2021 SSC Cross Country Championships. The 2021 championships were hosted by Florida Southen College at Holloway Park in Lakeland on Saturday, October 22nd.
2021 Men's Cross Country Championship Recap
Embry-Riddle finished with 46 team points to capture the program's third SSC championship, second consecutive. Three Eagle runners finished Top-10, with Ryan Szklany finishing a team-best third-place. Saint Leo placed second with 50 points and three Top-5 finishers, while Florida Southern came in third with 55 points thanks to three runners within the Top-8.

FSC's Mason Jones repeats as the SSC Cross Country Individual Champion by finishing the 8,000-meter race with a time of 24:25.79. Jones remains the 11th FSC men's runner to win the title, first since 2010 to win it twice. Shane Bracken outpaced ERAU's Ryan Szklany for second place. Saint Leo's Arthur Cosson and Lucas Liard finished fourth and fifth. ERAU's Kraemer Joshua Wagner, followed by teammate Ryan Szklany. Jones, Bracken, Wagner, and Szklany all finished Top-5 at the 2019 SSC championship. Along with Jones, Bracken, and Szklany, Paul Kraemer (ERAU), Joshua Wagner (FSC), Devon Sullivan (UT), and Mitchell Kozik (FSC) finished Top-10 at last year's event.

2020-21 Women's Cross Country Championship Recap
Saint Leo edged Tampa, 50 to 52, to capture its third SSC Women's Cross Country Championship and first since 2016. The top three Lions runners finished at 2, 3, 4 to help lock in the win. All five Tampa runners landed in the Top-20, including the overall winner. Florida Southern took third place with three finishers in the Top-15.

Finishing the 6,000-meter race with a time of 21:27.67, Zoe Jarvis becomes the first Spartan to repeat as conference champions since 2005. Faye Dervan, Paige Patterson, and Tania Jarreau finished of Saint Leo second, third, and fourth, respectively. Tampa's Anna Sentner rounded out the Top-5. Jarvis, Patterson, Sentner, along with Ivanova Yanes (NSU), Allison Seng (PBA), and Dune Costes (PBA), repeat at Top-10 performers from last year.
