Women's Final Round Recap

Ruiz brings the Sharks program its sixth individual SSC championship after shooting a record-breaking 210 in the three-day tournament. The Canadian followed a first round 4-under (68) with back-to-back 1-under (71) rounds at the 6,075-yard, par-72 Osprey Point Golf Course.

Tilda Larsson of Barry University came in second after finishing the tournament at 1-under (215). Larsson's final day 5-under (67) is the second-best single-round performance in SSC tournament history. Krissy Ortiz and Jenny Ayala of Lynn University finished third and fourth, respectively. Ortiz tallied a 4-over (220), while Ayala registered a score of 6-over (222). Rounding out the Top-5 are Sophie Madden of Nova Southeastern and Josefina Foa Torres of Barry who tied at 7-over (223).

Nova Southeastern closed the SSC championship on Tuesday with a final round score of 286, which ties Barry's SSC record a single-round team score (RedTail, 2015). Although Barry was knocking on the door, Nova Southeastern held the lead throughout the championship, eventually breaking their conference record for a three-day tournament by five strokes with a 17-under (881) performance. Barry's second-place score of 22-over stands as the second-best tournament score in history, while Lynn's 28-over goes down as the fourth best.
