Women's Tournament Notes

Ruiz's 4-under (68) ties Jennifer Beames' [Rollins College] Day 2 score at Eaglebrook in 2000 for second best SSC tournament round in history. Marie Coors' [Saint Leo University] 6-under in 2014 at Lake Jovita stands as the best all-time.

NSU's Day 1 9-over (297) is 11 shots off of the top single-round score for a team in the SSC tournament history. Barry recorded 2-under (286) at RedTail in 2015. It is the only under-par round by a team in tournament history.

Golfers found hole 11 (Par 4) the most challenging during Round 1, as it played almost a shot over par (+0.95). Hole 3 played nearest to par for the day; the 365-yard Par 4 saw the most pars and third most birdies.

Ruiz and Tilda Larsson [Barry] look to join 24 other women who have finished Top-5 in the SSC championship two or more times and a list of 23 golfers that have finished Top-10 three or more times.

Including Ruiz and Larsson, seven of the Top-10 finishers from 2017 return for the 2018 championship: A. Williams [Florida Southern College], K. Ortiz [Lynn], A. Foigel [Nova Southeastern], A. Jakobson [Saint Leo], and P. Ortiz [Florida Tech]. All seven golfers also finished Top-17 at the 2016 championship.

2018 marks the 20th women's tournament for the conference and the first competition at Osprey Point.
