ORLANDO, Fla. – Sunshine State Conference volleyball teams took 24 of 33 matches from the Gulf South Conference during the 2018 South Regional Crossover this past weekend. The event matched the SSC’s 11 members against teams from the Gulf South Conference on October 19th and 20th at the Orlando Sports Center.
SSC teams won 11 of 15 matches on Friday, October 19th and then took 13 of 18 on Saturday, October 20th. Thirteen of the SSC’s 24 victories came in just three sets. Barry University, Eckerd College, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Florida Southern College, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and the University of Tampa went 3-0 during the event. The SSC has now won 102 of the 132 (.773) South Region Crossover matches since the event began in 2015.
 The South Region Crossover Tournament Team consisted of 11 SSC student-athletes.
Repeating from the 2017 All-Tournament Team are Sorrel Houghton of Tampa, as well as Olivia Roa of Embry-Riddle.
SSC regular season play concludes on Saturday, November 10th and NCAA regionals begin on Thursday, November 15th at non-predetermined sites. The 2018 SSC regular season champion will have an automatic qualifier to the NCAA regional. The finals will be held Thursday, November 29th - Saturday, December 1st at the A.J. Palumbo Center on the campus of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The NCAA will announce championship selections and seeding on Sunday, November 11th,
