ORLANDO, Fla. – Lynn’s Lira Pukl Verdel was named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Palm Beach Atlantic’s Sofia Augusto earned Defensive Player of the Week honors. Nova Southeastern’s Abbie Roth was selected as the SSC Setter of the Week following the first week of volleyball action from August 27-29.

SSC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lira Pukl Verdel, So., OH, Lynn (Maribor, Slovenia)
  • Led the Fighting Knights with 3.70 kills per set, 46.0 points and a .347 hitting percentage across 10 sets, while adding seven service aces and 31 digs.
  • Recorded double-doubles in both of Lynn's victories, posting 12 kills and 10 digs and 12 kills and 15 digs.
  • Helped lead No. 18 Lynn to a 2-1 opening weekend, including a 3-0 victory over No. 22 Bentley.

  • Recorded a team-best 64 digs across 12 sets, averaging an SSC-leading 5.33 digs per set.
  • Posted a .967 reception percentage, committing just three reception errors on 90 attempts.
  • Helped the Sailfish to a 3-1 opening weekend, including sweeps over UNC Pembroke and Middle Georgia.

  • Recorded three double-doubles in four matches, helping the Sharks go 4-0 at the NSU Shark Invite.
  • Became the first Shark in 25 matches to record a 50-assist, 10-dig double-double, finishing with 51 assists and 13 digs.
  • Recorded 160 assists (11.43 assists per set) over the weekend, while adding nine kills, four blocks and five service aces.
