2276 Student-Athletes Named to Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference named a record 2,276 student-athletes to the 2026 Spring Commis- sioner’s Honor Roll. The awards were announced on Wednesday, June 23rd, by SSC Commissioner Chris Graham. Of the student-athletes recognized, 552, also an SSC record, carried a perfect 4.00 grade-point average for the spring semester.
The number of 2026 honorees breaks the previous record of 2,264 student-athletes named last year’s Spring Honor Roll. This year’s numbers mark the seventh time the SSC has recognized over 350 perfect grade-point averages on the Spring Honor Roll, besting the previous record of 522 perfect grade-point averages set in 2025.
Several athletes recognized at the top of their respective sports found their way onto the Honor Roll. Of the 28 “of-the-year” award winners in the 15 winter and spring sports that recognize top individuals, 25 made the honor roll, including 10 who had 4.0 GPAs. Six of the 25 won national championships, including three of the 4.0 students: Kristina Orban (Nova Southeastern-women’s swimmer of the year), Max Barile (Florida Southern-men’s golf player of the year) and Kolby Cohen (Florida Southern-women’s lacrosse draw control specialist of the year).
Student-athletes must post a minimum grade-point average of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00 to be eligible for the Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Participants in the sports of men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s swimming, women’s beach volleyball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s outdoor track, men’s and
women’s tennis, men’s and women’s lacrosse, women’s rowing, baseball, and softball are eligible for the spring honor roll.
Having won 144 Division II National Championships since the league was founded in 1975, SSC student-athletes have proven successful in competition in addition to the classroom. The SSC ranked first among NCAA Division II conferences in ASR (Academic Success Rate) for the third-straight year in 2024-25 and has never fallen below second in the metric’s 19-year history.
