Women's Tennis All-SSC History: All-SSC Teams | Athletes & Coaches of the Year
Salma Djoubri of Lynn is named Athlete of the Year for the fourth consecutive season. She becomes the first-ever athlete in any sport in SSC history to win the major award four-times. The senior from Caudebec Les Elbeuf, France, finished the spring season with a 13-1 overall singles record, including a 6-0 mark in SSC play, and all at #1 singles. Djoubri also tallied a 10-1 overall doubles record, including a 7-1 mark at the #2 position and perfect 3-0 on court three. She remains the seventh Fighting Knight named Athlete of the YearA. Djoubri currently holds an ITA Ranking of no. 2 in singles and has the lowest WTN in Division II, as the only player sub-15 (14.9).
Embry-Riddle's Daniela Fernandez has been selected as Freshman of the Year by league coaches. The Spaniard posted a 16-2 spring record for the Eagles, going 5-1 at #3 singles and 11-1 at #4 singles, while going 8-1 in league action. She also went 12-7 in doubles matches, with a 7-5 record at #1 and 5-2 on #2. Currently, she holds an ITA Ranking of No. 29 in singles. Fernandez joins Franziska Kremerskothen (2025) and Laura Cuesta Bret (2024) as the only Eagles to win SSC Freshman of the Year. It is the third straight year Embry-Riddle has won the award.
Chad Berryhill of Embry-Riddle has been voted Coach of the Year by his peers. Under his command, the Eagles posted a 22-2 overall record and advanced to the championship of the SSC Tournament. As of the latest ITA Rankings, ERAU holds the No. 3 ITA ranking nationally. The Eagles will be hosting their first-ever NCAA South Regional this weekend as the no. 2 seed. Berryhill is the fourth coach in SSC history to win multiple Coach of the Year honors on the men and women side. He has earned the award twice on both ends. Berryhill becomes the first Eagle head coach in either gender to be named Coach of the Year. His previous awards were with Saint Leo.
Djoubri, Kristyna Hranacova, and Olivia Lindestaf all repeat as First-Team honorees in singles. There are 11 student-athletes that return as recipients on the All-SSC teams. Barry's Viktoriia Dema has earned a spot on both the singles and doubles teams for the third consecutive season. Florida Southern's Ronja Scheuermann and Emily Jennewein remain the only doubles team intact to place on an All-SSC team.
