Founded in 1975, Sunshine State Conference member institutions have won a total of 138 NCAA national championships across 15 sports and boast an NCAA Division II leading 89% Academic Success Rate. In 2025-26, the SSC marks its 50th anniversary, reflecting on a proud history of athletic and academic excellence.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference recognizes 15 women’s golf student-athletes as All-SSC in 2026. Barry’s Tereza Zavrelova was named Women’s Golfer of the Year, Nova Southeastern’s Alexandra Remaklus claimed Freshman of the Year honors, and Sharks head coach Heather Wall was crowned the league’s Coach of the Year.

SSC Golfer of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards are presented by Athletic Solutions.

Barry’s Zavrelova, a junior from Drasov, Czech Republic, was named the SSC Women’s Golfer of the Year after posting a head-to-head record of 531-73-13 against conference opponents. She owned a winning record against all but one golfer in conference and currently holds the No. 7 ranking in all of Division II.

Nova Southeastern’s Remaklus, a freshman from Clermont, Fla., was awarded Freshman of the Year honors. She won the SSC Championship earlier in the month at Cabot Citrus Farms, shooting -2 in the final round to finish even for the tournament and take home first. Remaklus holds a head-to-head record of 546-119-21 in conference play this year.

Nova Southeastern head coach Heather Wall was awarded SSC Coach of the Year for the second year in a row and the third time in her career. Wall led the Sharks to their second conference championship earlier this month at Cabot Citrus Farms.

A total of eight institutions were represented on this year’s All-Conference list. Nova Southeastern led the way with three, while Tampa, Barry, Eckerd, Florida Southern, and Lynn, each had two apiece. Four golfers earned All-SSC for the second straight season. Lynn’s Amelia Ruiz Topali, the reigning Golfer of the Year, and Tampa’s Justine Bayle, last year’s Freshman of the Year, both earned First Team nods this season. Clare Gimpel from Florida Southern and Maria Torres Lobato from Nova Southeastern are also repeat selections.

All-conference selections and individual award winners are determined by a vote of Sunshine State Conference head coaches with oversight and approval from member institution Athletic Directors.
