BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern remains in the lead following round two of the Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Championship on Monday.
The Sharks posted a round-best 9-over to create separation over second-place Lynn, which shot +10 as a team and now sits two strokes behind the Sharks for first. The Sharks and Fighting Knights represent the top three on the individual leaderboard heading into Tuesday's action, with Alexandra Remaklus from Nova Southeastern and Amelia Ruiz Topali from Lynn sitting in a for first place at 2-over. Remaklus mirror Sunday's performance with her second +1 score of the tournament, while Topali shot even-par in round two to move into the top spot. The leader after round one, Maria Torres Lobato, is in a tie for third with Rollins' Youyang Li at 3-over par.
The Tars of Rollins are in third place as a team, five back of Lynn and seven of Nova Southeastern. Palm Beach Atlantic remains in fourth to round a top four that did not change
after round one. Saint Leo moved up one spot into fifth, replacing Tampa who is now in sixth. Two others are tied with Tampa in sixth, with Barry jumping two spots after posting a 13-stroke improvement on Monday, and Florida Southern improving by 11 strokes. Eckerd moved up one spot into ninth after a 12-stroke improvement in round two. Embry-Riddle is in 10th, six strokes behind the Tritons.
The final round will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
