BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — Nova Southeastern captured its second straight SSC Women’s Golf championship on Tuesday at Cabot Citrus Farms. Entering the final round with a two-stroke lead over Lynn, the Sharks shot +5 in the final 18 holes to hang on for a one-stroke win over the Fighting Knights, who finished +4 on the day.
Nova Southeastern’s Alexandra Remaklus was the individual champion and one of two Sharks to be named the All-Tournament Team. Remaklus shot 2-under to hang onto first place after entering Tuesday tied with Lynn’s Amelia Ruiz Topali. Remaklus ended the three-round tournament even-par, while Ruiz Topali claimed second at +2. Rollins’ Youyang Li finished in third, while Nova Southeastern’s Maria Torres Lobato placed fourth. Lynn’s Emilia Koskinen and Tampa’s Ruth Toennessen tied for fifth to round out the top
five.
As a team, the Tars remained in third place after a +10 showing in the final round. Tampa saw the biggest leap of any team, jumping up two spots into fourth after a +5 score. Saint Leo held steady in fifth to round out the top five on the team leaderboard. Palm Beach Atlantic ended in sixth, followed by Florida Southern and Eckerd. The Tritons
climbed one spot per day to finish in eighth after sitting in 10th after round one. Barry and Embry-Riddle rounded out the ninth and 10th spot.
