University of Tampa Wins 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Swimming National Championship

Three national records fall as SSC competitors dominate the water.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Tampa won the 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Swimming National Championship, finishing with 522.5 points and defeating 2025 national champion Drury University, which totaled 509 points. Lynn University finished fifth with 260 points, Florida Southern College finished 10th with 161 points, Rollins College finished 17th with 59.5 points, Florida Tech finished 21st with 39 points, Nova Southeastern University finished 25th with 13 points, and Barry University finished 26th with 12 points.

The Spartans were fueled by five gold medals and a complete sweep of all freestyle relay events. On Day 1, they opened the championship by winning the 800-yard freestyle relay, setting a new NCAA Division II record of 6:16.64. They also won the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:17.36 and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 2:51.14, which served as the final blow to Drury to secure the 2026 national title. Jacob Hamlin also earned a pair of gold medals, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in 8:50.02 and the 500-yard freestyle in 4:14.35, the latter a new NCAA Division II record.

Lynn University’s Maurice Grabowski was dominant throughout the week, scoring the most points of any competitor at the national championship. Grabowski totaled 80 points, fueled by five first-place finishes and one third-place finish. He won the 50-yard freestyle in 18.97, the 100-yard freestyle in 41.89, the 100-yard backstroke in 45.78, the 100-yard butterfly in 45.34, and the 200-yard medley relay with a split of 20.99 and a final time of 1:24.15, which is a new NCAA Division II record. Grabowski was also part of the third-place 400-yard medley relay team that finished in 3:06.65.

Rollins’ Luke Dinges led the Tars with their highest finish, placing second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:43.99.
