ORLANDO, Fla. – Barry University's Valeriya Koslova has been named the AVCA Division II National Player of the Week for her performance for the week of September 15 – 21. The freshman outside hitter from Moscow, Russia, averaged 5.86 kills per set during Barry's perfect 2-0 week.

Both of Koslova's matches were at the Embry-Riddle Invitational. In the first match, against Seton Hill, she had six kills, no errors, and a .400 attack percentage. In the second match of the tournament, Koslova recorded a match-high 35 kills with just four errors, as she hit .484 in a four-set win over Lewis.

Koslova's 35-kill performance is tied for the fifth-most in an SSC four-set match. Koslova ended the week with 41 kills and a .468 attack percentage. She averaged 6.93 points, 1.14 blocks, 1.00 digs, and 0.43 aces per set.

Editor's Note: Koslova is the first volleyball player to win National Player of the Week this season. She joins Tin Vastic (Palm Beach Atlantic) and Viggo Svedin (Tampa) as SSC student-athletes to be named National Player of the Week in fall 2025. Koslova is the first Barry player to win national recognition since Diana Akopova (Volleyball) was named National Player of the Week by the AVCA on November 19, 2024.
