The SSC's 25th Hall of Fame class will be celebrated October 4th in Miami Shores

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference is proud to announce its 2025 Hall of Fame class presented by S3 Design. The league will usher in the 10 newest members on Saturday, October 4th, during the SSC Hall of Fame brunch and celebration. The event will take place in Miami Shores on the campus of Barry University.

The inductees of the SSC's 25th Hall of Fame class are Beverly "Bev" Buckley (Rollins, women's tennis Head Coach), Bill Evers (Eckerd, baseball), Bill Jurgens (Florida Tech, Athletic Director), Gregory Malfitano (Lynn, Senior Major Gift Officer), Pete Meyer (Florida Southern, baseball Head Coach / Athletic Director), Stephanie Quinones (Nova Southeastern, women's soccer), Francis X. Reidy (Saint Leo, Vice President / Athletic Director), Daniel Stapff (Barry, men's golf), Carolyn Stone (Palm Beach Atlantic, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics), and Ronald L. Vaughn (Tampa, University President).

The SSC Hall of Fame was established in 1991 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the league. Its purpose is to perpetuate the memory of those who brought distinction, honor, and excellence to the league. Conference officials selected a charter class in 1992, with 21 individuals honored. The 2025 class brings the number of SSC Hall of Fame inductees to 223.


Tickets are available for the SSC Hall of Fame Brunch and Celebration on October 4th in Miami Shores. Event space is limited, and you must purchase no later than Friday, September 19th.   • Played for the Chicago Cubs for three years
  • 19 years as minor league manager, compiling 1,381 wins, which was tied for second-most among active minor league managers
  • Won 5 minor league championships

  • Served as athletics administrator and oversaw the recruitment of every athletic director and head coach from 1987 to 2015
  • Oversaw the transition from NAIA to Division II
  • Responsible for the fundraising, planning, and completion of both athletic and campus facilities, including the gym, campus performing arts center, University campus center, Bobby Campbell Stadium, and Greg Malfitano Field

  • Oversaw two SSC Scholar-Athletes of the Year, seven NCAA Elite 90 award winners, and more than 40 Academic All-Americans as Athletic Director
  • FSC won four NCAA Division II national championships, 12 individual national championships, 33 SSC titles, and finished as national runner-up six times in four different sports during his AD tenure
  • While Head Coach, FSC advanced to six NCAA tournaments

  • Grew the department from 10 varsity sports to 18
  • Four athletes earned SSC Player of the Year honors
  • During her tenure, PBA won four SSC regular-season championships
  • 13 straight semesters with a department GPA over 3.00
  • NACDA Under Armour DII Athletic Director of the Year & PBA Employee of the Year
  • Doubled the number of student-athletes at PBA, bringing the number from 150 to over 300
