ORLANDO, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo collects the 2024-25 Sunshine State Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor. The Eagle tennis student-athlete followed a 4.0 GPA in Computational Mathematics with a perfect GPA in her Data Science graduate program.

The Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is voted on by Athletic Directors, Senior Woman Administrators, Athletic Communication Directors, and Faculty Athletic Representatives from each of the 11 SSC member institutions.

Wira Hadipoernomo, a native of Semarang, Indonesia, became the first Eagle women's tennis athlete to be named a College Sports Communicators Academic All-American with a First Team honor this season. She is also a four-time Sunshine State Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree, three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, and two-time D2 ADA Academic Achievement award winner. The Eagle also received the NCAA II Arthur Ashe Award for Leadership and Sportsmanship in 2024, among a myriad of scholarships and academic awards throughout her time at Embry-Riddle.

The graduate student played 32 singles and 35 doubles matches in 2024-25, finishing with a 26-6 overall singles record and a 25-10 doubles winning record. Wira Hadipoernomo earned multiple ITA rankings throughout the season, with her top listing reaching No. 17 in the NCAA II singles ranking. The Eagle has been recognized for her performance this season, earning her second Sunshine State Conference Second Team Singles accolade, with the first coming in 2022. She finished her career as the winningest singles player in program history, accumulating 79 wins from 2021-25.

Wira Hadipoernomo contributes to the Embry-Riddle community in ways far past the court and the classroom. An active volunteer, she's served through programs like Adopt a Block, the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade, and the Easterseals "Walk With Me" event supporting children with autism. On campus, she's held leadership roles in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Launch Christian Ministries, and the International Student Organization. She's also been involved with the Honors Program, the Biologically-Inspired Design for Resilience (BID4R) research lab, and multiple student employment roles—from tutoring chemistry to supporting career services, housing, and institutional research.

She is the second Embry-Riddle Eagle to be honored as SSC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, joining women's soccer player Isabelle Navren (2022-23 & 2023-24). Wira Hadipoernomo is the sixth women's tennis athlete recognized since conference administrators established the award in 1995-96 and the first in 10 years.
