ORLANDO, Fla. - [CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL] - After three rounds of play, Florida Southern has won the 2025 Sunshine State Conference Championship. It is the Mocs' 17th SSC title and their first since 2010. Rollins' Mick Herron claimed the individual title. Rollins hosted the 2025 SSC Men's Golf Championship at Rio Pinar Golf Club (Par 72, 7,042 yards) in Orlando from April 13 to 15.

 With a three-round score of 3-under (861), Florida Southern won the event by 13 strokes. The score was the best ever recorded during the SSC Tournament at Rio Pinar, topping Rollins' three-round score of 868 (+4) set in 2003. The Mocs led for the entire tournament. They posted a 286 (-2) in the first round, then shot a 285 (-3) in the second. Their second-round performance was the best of any team at this year's tournament and any team in SSC Tournament history at Rio Pinar. The previous record was 286 (-2) by Rollins in 2003. After winning three consecutive conference titles, Barry tied for second with Embry-Riddle. Both teams posted scores of 874 (+10).

Individually, Herron bested the 50-man field and became the fifth Tar to win the individual title. He's the first Rollins player to win since Dan Walters in 2006 (Lake Jovita). Herron, a freshman from Deephaven, Minnesota, carded a 7-under score of 209 with rounds of 69-71-69. Herron registered 13 total birdies, tied for the third-most at the event, and he finished second in Par 3 scoring (-2), second in Par 4 scoring (E), and tied for third in Par 5 scoring (-5). Reggie Fear of Eckerd finished second with a three-round score of 213 (-3). Florida Southern's Freddie Parlby finished in third with a three-round total of 215 (-1).

  • Herron's three-round 209 (-7) is tied for the 23rd-best performance in SSC Tournament history.
  • Barry's Giorgio Celani shot a first-round 68 (-4), which is tied for the fourth-best score at Rio Pinar during the SSC Tournament.
  • On Day Three, Eckerd's Josh DiZinno one-upped Celani, shooting a 67 (-5) to tie for the second-best SSC Tournament round at Rio Pinar.
  • Scialanga is the only golfer to record multiple eagles at the event. He recorded two, while 13 others recorded one.
  • Jaylen Abbas of Florida Southern and Sebastiano Mascia of Lynn each made 14 birdies, the most at the event.
  • Brett Jones of Barry made the most pars at the event, shooting 41 in three days.
