NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The IWLCA has chosen eight student-athletes for the IWLCA Player of the Week awards for the week ending February 23, 2025. This weekly award recognizes the best offensive and defensive performances by players in Division I, II, III, and the NAIA each week during the regular season. Tampa standout, Sarah Engle has been named the IWLCA Offensive Player of the Week.
Sarah Engle – University of Tampa
Engle earns Offensive Player of the Week after a standout performance in Tampa's dominant win over No. 3 Adelphi. Engle scored a game-high six goals and recorded eight shots, with seven of them hitting the target. Her exceptional offensive display also earned her SSC Offensive Player of the Week honors.
Engle has tallied 18 goals in three games this season, averaging six goals per game for the team. She currently leads the team in goals and points.

Editor's Note: Engle is the first SSC women's lacrosse athlete to earn National Player of the Week from IWLCA since May 28, 2024 (Alex Walling, Tampa). She's the first Spartan named NPOW since she was honored by USA Lacrosse Magazine on February 12, 2025. This is the second time this season that Engle has won NPOW.
