SSC Athletes of the Week | October 27 - November 2, 2025
Sunshine State Conference Athletes of the Week are chosen from a pool of nominees for their regular season performances during the week of October 27 - November 2, 2025. Athletic Communication Directors of member institutions nominate athletes.
Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
Valeriya Kozlova, Barry
Freshman - Outside Hitter - Moscow, Russia - 3rd SSC Weekly Award
Kozlova averaged 5.14 kills per set and hit .420 in Barry's wins over Eckerd and Rollins. In her first action of the week, the Russian tallied a match-high 24 kills off 69 attempts and seven errors for a .396 attack percentage in a four-set win over Eckerd. Kozlova followed with a match-high 12 kills on 21 attempts with two errors for a .476 attack percentage as the Buccaneers swept Rollins. For the week, Kozlova totaled 36 kills while averaging 6.50 points, 2.00 digs, 1.00 blocks, and 0.71 service aces per set. The weekly award is her third this season.
Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Robinson Repass, Rollins
Junior - Middle Blocker - Jacksonville, Florida
Repass averaged 1.38 blocks per set across two road matches against Top-10 competition last week. The Jacksonville, Florida native totaled a match-high seven blocks (two solo) in a five-set loss at No. 10 Lynn. She followed with four blocks in a three-set loss at No. 3 Barry. Repass also provided the Tars with six kills, eight digs, and an assist to accompany her 11 blocks last week.
Volleyball Setter of the Week
Gabi Jedrzejczak, Eckerd
Senior - Szamotuly, Poland
Jedrzejczak averaged 10.13 assists and 2.13 digs per set as Eckerd went 1-1 against Top-10 competition on the road. The senior from Szamotuly, Poland, registered 37 assists with no errors in 109 attempts during a 3-1 loss at No. 3 Barry. She followed with a match-high 44 assists and two errors in 118 attempts in a 3-1 win at No. 10 Lynn. With the play of Jedrzejczak, the Tritons hit .223 as a team. She also provided her team with 17 digs, eight kills, three service aces, and two blocks last week.
Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Robin Muenst, Lynn
Graduate Student - Midfield - Stuttgart, Germany
Muenst registered nine points from four goals and an assist as Lynn closed the regular season with wins over Florida Tech (2-1) and Eckerd (4-0). The German began the week with a game-opening goal in the 30th minute against Florida Tech, before assisting on Marc Ehmann’s game-winner in the 65th minute. The senior followed with a hat trick against Eckerd with goals in the 13th, 19th, and 41st minutes. For the week, Muenst tallied his four goals off six total shots and five shots on goal while averaging 85.5 minutes on the pitch.
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
James Knudson, Saint Leo
Sophomore - Goalkeeper - Bergen, Norway
Knudson helped Saint Leo secure a spot in the 2025 SSC Men’s Soccer Tournament following a .833 save percentage across the final two games of the season. The Norwegian faced nine total shots and eight corner kicks, allowing one goal, and making three saves in a 1-0 loss to Rollins. He then produced a clean sheet, earning the Lions three points in the standings, with two saves while facing seven total shots and five corners in a 1-0 win at Tampa.
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
Freija Aflenzer, Eckerd
Sophomore - Forward - Langenlebarn, Austria
Aflenzer hit the game winner against Tampa, helping Eckerd earn home-field advantage for the SSC Women’s Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals. The Austrian scored the game-winner in the 83rd minute during a 1-0 result at Tampa. She tallied three total shots in the win. In a 1-0 win against Lynn, Aflenzer had three total shots and two shots on goal.
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
Madi Winn, Eckerd
Junior - Goalkeeper - Fort Myers, Florida - 2nd SSC Weekly Award
Winn repeats as Defensive Player of the Week after two clean sheets in Eckerd’s final games of the regular season. The Fort Myers, Florida, product started the week with two saves in a 1-0 win at Tampa, following seven shots faced and six corner kicks. Winn followed with three saves in a 1-0 win over Lynn after facing seven shots and a corner kick. With the play of Winn, the Tritons secured home-field advantage for the SSC Women’s Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals.
Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Elijah Walsh, Florida Southern
Senior - Guard - Leeds, England
Walsh was Florida Southern’s top performer at the 2025 Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. The Englishman started the event with a game-high 23 points, four rebounds, and three steals in a 89-76 win over Alaska - Anchorage. The senior guard followed with 11 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal in a 93-91 loss to Virginia - Wise. Walsh totaled 34 points last week by shooting 48% from the field (13-27), 31% from behind the arc (4-13), and 67% from the free-throw line (4-6). He averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 assists while playing 23.5 minutes per game.
Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week
Amare Miller, Florida Southern
Senior - Forward - White Plains, New York - 2nd SSC Weekly Award
Miller totaled nine blocks and 10 defensive rebounds in two games at the 2025 Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. The senior led Florida Southern defensively in an 88-76 win over Alaska - Anchorage with game-highs in blocks (4) and rebounds (8). In a 90-85 loss to Virginia - Wise, Miller totaled five blocks, setting both the single-game and tournament record for blocks at the Classic. Offensively, the White Plains, New York native scored 32 points with a .370 field goal percentage. The weekly award is the second of his career.
Men's Golfer of the Week
Eduardo Matarazzo, Barry
Freshman - São Paulo, Brazil
Matarazzo won the Citrus Intercollegiate held at ChampionsGate Country Club in ChampionsGate, Florida. The Brazilian bested a field of 75 golfers with a 54-hole score of 13-under, 203, following rounds of 73-65-65. Matarazzo beat 22 of Scoreboard’s Top-150 golfers and was the top SSC golfer of 45 in the field. With his efforts, Barry finished second of 15 teams, besting nine squads ranked in the Top-50, including seven SSC teams.
Women's Golfer of the Week
Lindsay Lee, Rollins
Freshman - San Antonio, Texas
Lee finished second at the Fall Slam hosted by Flagler at Marsh Creek Country Club in St. Augustine, Florida. The San Antonio, Texas product bested 63 players in the field with a 54-hole score of 5-under, 211, following rounds of 74-67-70. Lee bested 26 of Scoreboard’s Top-100 golfers and was the top SSC golfer of 15 in the field. With her efforts, Rollins won the team event, topping seven squads ranked in the Top-35.
Men's Swimmer of the Week
Jacob Hamlin, Tampa
Junior - Orlando, Florida - 3rd Weekly Award
Hamlin was the top swimmer in Tampa’s dual meet win at Nova Southeastern last week. The Orlando native earned two NCAA D2 “B” cuts with wins in the 200 free (1:35.95) and 500 free (4:21.11). Both marks currently rank No. 1 in NCAA Division II this season. The weekly award is the third of his career.
Women's Swimmer of the Week
Kristina Orban, Nova Southeastern
Sophomore - Malmo, Sweden - 4th SSC Weekly Award
Orban was the top swimmer for Nova Southeastern in a dual meet win against Tampa. The Swede earned two individual NCAA D2 “B” cuts with her wins in the 200 free (1:47.90) and 100 fly (54.68). Her 200 free time ranks No. 1 in NCAA Division II this season and was just 0.68 short of an “A” cut. Orban’s 100 fly time currently ranks third in the nation. The weekly award is the fourth of her career and is the second this season.
