2024 SSC Softball All-Conference Awards
MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference presents the 2024 softball postseason awards. Thirty-nine student-athletes from 10 member institutions are recognized as All-Conference. Tampa leads the way with 10 award winners, including Pitcher of the Year. Voting for the All-SSC softball awards was conducted among the league's head coaches.
SSC Softball All-Conference History: All-SSC Teams | Players & Coaches of the Year
The league office recognizes Madyson Coe from Saint Leo as the 2024 SSC Player of the Year. The senior from Bethlehem, Georgia, finished the regular season with a conference-leading .405 batting average and 1.081 OPS. She was second in on-base percentage (527), doubles (14), and walks (41). Coe was also third in SSC slugging percentage (.554) and hits (60). She becomes the sixth Lion in program history to win Player of the Year

Tampa’s Kate DeSimone is honored as the 2024 SSC Pitcher of the Year. The Royal Palm Beach, Florida native made 20 appearances in the circle, including 15 starts where she threw 11 complete games. The junior ended the regular season with an 11-2 record, 99.1 innings pitched, 64 strikeouts, a .183 batting average against, a 0.99 ERA, and a .775 WHIP. DeSimone allowed 63 hits this season, and just four went for extra bases. The junior is the sixth Spartan athlete to earn Pitcher of the Year laurels

Maliyah Lawson from Nova Southeastern collects Freshman of the Year accolades. The outfielder from Roseville, California, gave her team 39 hits, 23 runs scored, 15 RBI, and 15 stolen bases during the regular season. Lawson ranks Top-10 in SSC batting average (.345) and on-base percentage (.452). She is the second Shark to win Freshman of the Year

Barry’s Sean Cotter is voted SSC Coach of the Year for the first time by his peers. Cotter led the Buccaneers to a .633 (19-11) conference winning percentage, the program’s best since 2015. He is the fifth Barry skipper to win Coach of the Year, the first since 2008

Mariah Galhouse from Tampa highlights the repeat All-SSC winners in 2024. The utility player from Spring Hill, Florida, becomes the first softball athlete in SSC history to collect five First Team honors and the 10th SSC Softball athlete to be named First Team All-SSC in four separate seasons
5. Nova Southeastern outfielder Alexis Smith collects her fourth consecutive All-SSC honor, which includes three First Team nods. Rollins pitcher Ashley Worrell gathers All-SSC for a fourth time and First Team all-conference for a second time. A total of 16 players repeat as All-SSC in 2024, including a former Pitcher of the Year and four former Freshman of the Year winners.
