MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference recognizes seventeen men's basketball student-athletes as All-SSC in 2023-24. Florida Southen College's Luke Anderson and Alex Steen are named Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively. George Kimble of Eckerd College earns Freshman of the Year, while FSC's Mike Donnelly garners Coach of the Year.

Anderson, a 6-7 junior forward, averaged a league-leading 20.0 points per game on his way to Player of the Year honors. He also led the league in total scoring, scoring 581 points across his 29 games. The Lakeland, Florida native finished the regular season Top-10 in SSC rebounds per game (8.3), free throw percentage (.842), 3PT percentage (.402), 3PT field goals per game (2.4), and minutes played per game (35.8). Anderson is the 10th FSC athlete to win Player of the Year honors in men's basketball, the first since 2019-20

Steen, a 6-8 sophomore forward from Panama City Beach, Florida, collects Defensive Player of the Year honors. He registered 7.1 defensive rebounds, 3.4 blocks, 0.8 steals, and 29.5 minutes per game across his 20 contests to become the third Moccasin to win the award
2. Steen finished the regular season Top-3 in SSC rebounds per game (11.0), defensive rebounds per game, field goal percentage (.593), blocks (68), and blocks per game.
Kimble, a 6-2 guard from Tampa, is named the SSC Freshman of the Year by conference coaches. He finished third in SSC scoring per game (19.8) after totaling 396 points across 20 games played during the regular season. Additionally, Kimble finished the regular-season Top-6 in league assists per game (4.8), free throw percentage (.850), and steals per game (1.8). He is the second Ttiton to be named SSC Freshman of the Year

Donnelly is recognized by his peers as the conference Coach of the Year for 2023-24. Despite several setbacks, Donnelly led the Moccasins to a 21-9 overall record, including a 15-5 league mark. This year's FSC squad reached a high of No. 14 in the NABC ranking, finished as SSC regular-season runner-up, and is ranked No. 3 in the South Region. The award is the second for Donnelly and the 17th for Florida Southern

Nordin Kapic of Lynn University and Kanon Koster of Saint Leo University are the only players to repeat as All-SSC in 2023-24. Kapic was tabbed as Freshman of the Year and All-Newcomer in 2023-24. Koster earned both a Second Team and All-Newcomer nod last season.
All-conference selections and individual award winners are determined by a vote of Sunshine State Conference head coaches with oversight and approval from member institution Athletic Directors.
