Navren of Embry-Riddle Wins SSC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Isabelle Navren becomes the first women's soccer player to win Sunshine State Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors. The junior Accounting & Finance major is entering her senior year at Embry-Riddle with a 4.0 GPA.
Voting for the award is conducted among Athletic Directors, Senior Woman Administrators, Athletic Communication Directors, and Faculty Athletic Representatives from the 11 SSC member institutions.
Navren, a native of Stockholm, Sweden, was tabbed a 2022 College Sports Communicators Third Team Academic All-American, after previously being named Academic All-District. In 2020, she received the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award. She has been named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll four times, earned the Embry-Riddle Eagles of Excellence Scholarship, and has made the Dean's List.
In 2021, she was named First Team All-South Region by United Soccer Coaches, Second Team All-South Region by D2CCA, and First Team All-Sunshine State Conference. This season, she was named First Team All-SSC and Second Team All-Region for the second time. In addition, she was named the Most Outstanding Player for the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
Navren continues to play an important role on the campus of Embry-Riddle even when away from the classroom and the soccer field. She is a member of Riddle Support Network, which provides support for students with financial, academic, and housing challenges. Additionally, she has volunteered with campus clean-up and the Blue and Gold Gala.
Navren is a youth soccer coach, and has volunteered at the Tomoka Marathon, the Color Me Kate 5k Fundraiser for cancer, the Me Strong 5k, the Gatorade volleyball tournament, the Daytona 500, and the Thanksgiving Basket Brigade.
As previously mentioned, she is the first soccer player to be honored as SSC Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year since conference administrators established the award in 1995-96. She is also the first female Eagle to win the award.
