MELBOURNE, Fla. - Thirty-five women's soccer student-athletes have earned All-SSC honors for the 2023 season. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Florida Tech, co-champions of the regular season, combined for 26 accolades. Voting for the awards is conducted among the conference's women's soccer coaches.
Marem Ndiongue, a senior forward from Florida Tech, is honored as Offensive Player of the Year by league coaches in 2023. The Sicily, Italy product led the league with 23 points, 2.56 points per game, and 10 goals against conference opponents this season. Overall, she found the back of the net 13 times in 13 games, scoring three game-winners and providing her team with six assists. Ndiongue joins Teresa Brantley [Moon] (2009) as the only Panthers named SSC Offensive Player of the Year.

Embry-Riddle's Thea Nyberg garners Defensive Player of the Year laurels. The defender from Uppsala, Sweden, played over 1400 minutes for an Eagles defense that registered six shutouts and held opponents to 0.75 goals per game. Nyberg becomes the third ERAU women's soccer athlete to earn Defensive Player of the Year honors1.

Ayana Aoyagi from Florida Tech is selected as the league’s first Goalkeeper of the Year. The senior from Cairns, Australia, led the SSC in Goals Against Average at .457. She allowed just seven scores in her 16 games and nearly 1400 minutes in net for the Panthers.
Lauryn Mateo of Embry-Riddle picks up Freshman of the Year honors. The midfielder from Orange Park, Florida, started all 16 regular season games for the Eagles. She scored five times, including four times in conference play, during her 1070 minutes on the pitch. Mateo is the third ERAU women's soccer athlete to earn Freshman of the Year honors2.
Ryan Moon is voted Coach of the Year by his peers after leading Florida Tech to the program's second SSC regular-season title. Moon and the Panthers ended the 11-year title drought by leading the SSC in goals for (39 ), goals against (8), scoring margin (2.44), and opponent shots on goal (42). Moon is the first Panther head coach to be named SSC Coach of the Year since women's soccer became a league sport in 1998.
Marie Myhrvold Seim of Embry-Riddle highlights the repeat All-Conference selections for 2023. The senior forward from Bergen, Norway, becomes the seventh athlete in SSC women's soccer history to be named First Team all-conference four times. Her teammate Isabell Navern picks up a third consecutive First Team honor. Nova Southeastern's Luana Grabias also repeats as a First Team selection from 2022, where she was also tabbed Player and Offensive Player of the Year. Ndiongue collects a third straight All-SSC honor, moving up to the First Team after Second Team honors in 2021 and 2022. Overall, nine athletes repeat as All-SSC during their careers.
