RESULTS: 2023 Men's & Women's NCAA Cross Country South Regional

Two teams and one individual will represent the SSC at the Division II National Championships

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Florida Southern's men’s cross country team, Tampa women’s cross country team, and Nova Southeastern’s Leena Saidi will represent the Sunshine State Conference at the 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships. The National Championship race will be held in Joplin, Missouri on Saturday, November 18. 

MEN'S RACE - Full Results

Florida Southern scored 86 points to earn an automatic qualification into the NCAA Division II National Championship after finishing second at the regional championship. They will be joined at nationals by regional champion Lee University and third-place finisher Mississippi College.

The top finisher for the SSC was Embry-Riddle's Tanner Rosolino who completed the 10,000-meter course in 30:20.70 for a sixth-place finish. Florida Southern's Christian Giller finished right behind him in seventh place. While Giller advances to nationals as part of Florida Southern's team, Rosolino will need to wait and see if he earns an at-large qualification.

WOMEN'S RACE - Full Results

SSC-champion Tampa finished second overall, scoring just 65 team points. Their performance qualified them for nationals along with regional champion Lee University and third-place finisher Mississippi College.

Nova Southeastern’s Leena Saidi was the first SSC runner across the finish line, finishing the 6,000-meter course in 21:39.1. Her fourth-place finish qualified her for nationals as an individual. Tampa's Aspen Gordon (20:56.29) placed seventh overall, while her teammate Olivia Harp (21:01.10) came in ninth. Emily McMurry of Alabama-Huntsville finished eighth to grab the second automatic individual qualification for the National Championship race.
