Fifteenth all-sports trophy for FSC men, first since 2017-18

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Florida Southern College has captured the men's division of the Sunshine State Conference Mayors' Cup all-sports trophy. The Moccasins continue to lead the SSC with a 15th men's Mayors' Cup.

First presented following the 1986-87 academic year, the SSC's all-sports trophy earned its name from the Mayors of member school communities who initially sponsored the award.

FSC amassed 57 points across eight conference sports to win the men's award outright for the 11th time. The Moccasins sat in first place with 28 points following the fall and winter sports seasons. Florida Southern picked up eight points for a fourth-place finish in basketball, seven points for their swimming title, seven points for a fifth-place finish in soccer, and six points for placing third at the cross country championship.

The Moccasins separated themselves from the pack with 29 points in the Spring. FSC finished runner-up in the golf championship as well as the baseball and lacrosse standings. It stands as Florida Southern's first men's Mayors' Cup since 2017-18, which was the school's first outright win in a decade. UT tallied 29 points alone by winning baseball and lacrosse titles and finishing runner-up in soccer. Mayors' Cup Scoring

Mayors' Cup scoring is based on the regular-season finish for sports with conference standings and championship finish for cross country, golf, rowing, and swimming. For sports where all schools compete, scoring begins with 11 points awarded for finishing first to one point for eleventh. In sports where fewer than 11 teams compete, first-place points will be awarded based on the number of competing teams. Scoring will take into account ties in the SSC standings. Ties broken with a head-to-head tiebreaker will see Mayors' Cup points distributed accordingly. Points will be split when head-to-head results cannot break a tie.
