ORMOND BEACH, Fla. - Barry University remains at the top of the leaderboard following round two of the 2022 Sunshine State Conference Women's Golf Championship. The Buccaneers are paced by Alice Gotbring, who leads the individual field. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is hosting the 2022 event on the Prestwick Course at Plantation Bay Golf & Country Club in Ormond Beach, Florida. The final round kicks off on Tuesday, April 12th, at 8:00 a.m.

Gotbring, the No. 1 ranked GolfStat player in Division II, leads the 50 player field at 2-over following a 73 today and an even-par 71 on Day 1. Carla Alvarez Perez of Rollins College shot even par in round 2 and sits second in the tournament at 3-over. Sara Ericsson of Lynn University also registered and even-par round two. She sits alone in third at 4-over. Nicola Fall of Nova Southeastern University and Eve Marie Sapin of Barry are tied for fourth at 5-over after identical first and second rounds of 72 and 75, respectively.

Barry continues to lead the field at 21-over (589) after a 12-over (296) during round two. The Buccaneers have four golfers in the Top-10 of the tournament standings. Barry last won the league championship in 2015 at RedTail Golf Club in Sorrento, Florida. Rollins rocketed up the leaderboard to second place and four shots behind Barry after carding the round of the tournament thus far at 6-over (290) during round two. Rollins' 6-over performance is tied for the 20th best in SSC tournament history and is the best tournament team round since April 16, 2019
1. The Tars last won the SSC title in 2016 at Crandon Golf Course in Key Biscayne. Lynn University remains in third after round two with a two-day total of 33-over. Lynn won back-to-back SSC titles in 2019 and 2021.

1Rollins registered the 20th best team score for a single round with 6-over (290) following round two. It is the best round for a team since NSU's 6-over on April 16, 2019 at Lake Jovita - South.
No individual has turned in an under par performance in the tournament thus far. Day one's scoring average was 77.86, which is the third-lowest since at least 2009. Day two played at 78.40.
Marie Coors' [Saint Leo University] 6-under in 2014 at Lake Jovita stands best individual round all time at the championship.
The top single-round score for a team in the tournament was Barry's 286 (-2) at RedTail in 2015 and Nova Southeastern's 286 (-2) at Osprey Point in 2018. They are the only under-par rounds by a team in tournament history.
Golfers found the par four 6th hole the most challenging during Round 1 and Round 2, as it played +0.94 on Day 1 and +0.70 on Day two. Scoring was the best on the par five 3rd hole and par three 7th hole (+0.14) during day 1. The seventh played the closest to par (+0.04) on Day 2.
2022 marks the 23rd women's tournament for the conference and the first competition at Plantation Bay.
