MELBOURNE, Fla. - Forty-four student-athletes have been recognized as All-Conference in the eighth year of Sunshine State Conference men's lacrosse. Ryan Dunn of Rollins College is awarded Player of the Year honors. Lynn University's Jalen Stanton is named Freshman of the Year. Rory Whipple from the University of Tampa is honored as Coach of the Year for the fourth time. Voting for the All-SSC Men's Lacrosse honors was conducted among the league's head coaches.

All-SSC History: SSC Players and Coaches of the Year | All-SSC Teams

Dunn tallied 54 points from 34 goals and 20 assists with a .312 shooting percentage in 10 games for the Tars during 2021. The senior attackman from Ridgefield, Connecticut, currently sits as the league leader in goals, points, and points per game. He ranks second in goals per game, fourth in assists, and fourth in assists per game. Dunn becomes the first Rollins Tar to be named SSC Player of the Year in men's lacrosse.

Stanton is awarded Freshman of the Year honors after appearing in all eight games for the Fighting Knights this season. The midfielder from Woodbine, Maryland, was an essential component in Lynn's winning season, even adding 14 goals, three assists, and seven ground balls to his team's stat sheet. Stanton is the second Lynn men's lacrosse athlete to earn SSC Freshman of the Year honors1.

Conference coaches select Whipple as the Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his career2. With Whipple's guidance, the Spartans program won its fifth SSC regular-season title, earned an NCAA national tournament bid, and reached the No. 1 ranking in national polls this season. The undefeated Spartans lead the league in scoring margin (9.6), goals per game (16.4), assists per game (9.78), shooting percentage (.328), save percentage (.627), and fewest turnovers per game (16.22).

Dryden Brous of Lynn highlights the repeat All-SSC award winners for 2021. With a First Team honor in 2021, Brous becomes the second men's lacrosse athlete to achieve four First Team All-SSC awards during their career3. Tampa’s Ross Dickerson and Jake Mosher McGraw both earn a third career First-Team honor, making them the fifth and sixth athletes in league history to reach the mark4. Florida Tech’s Reid Chaconas and Palm Beach Atlantic University’s Gunner Gebelein repeat as First Team All-SSC winners from 20195.
