WSOC Tournament Page] - #1 Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and #6 Florida Tech will face off in the 2021 Sunshine State Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament championship final. The match will be played at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 14th, on the campus of Embry-Riddle.

HOW THEY GOT HERE....
Embry-Riddle (9-3-3, 7-2-1 22 pts) captured the program’s first SSC regular-season title. With the trophy came the #1 seed in the SSC postseason tournament as well as a quarterfinal round bye. In the semifinals, ERAU tied #5 Rollins College in two overtimes. Grace Foyer knotted the game at 1-1 in the 82nd minute from an assist by Anita Agustdottir. In the quarterfinals on Monday night, Florida Tech (10-2-5, 4-2-4, 16 pts) took down #3 Nova Southeastern University on the road, 1-0. Marem Ndiongue scored the game’s lone goal in the 11th minute, while teammate Maria Sanchez Recureo stopped seven shots [
Box Score]. Down 1-0 late in the semifinals at PBA, Ndiongue tallied the tying goal from a Mayara Queiroz Reis assist 87th minute. Queiroz Reis then sealed a 2-1 Florida Tech victory by converting a penalty kick goal in the eighth minute of overtime [

THIS SEASON....
ERAU and Florida Tech met once this season, in conference action, on September 22nd in Daytona Beach. Ndiongue scored the game’s first goal, then Sofia Munthe Nilsson connected on the tying score in the 89th minute. Munthe Nillson assisted Marie Myhrvold Seim’s game-winner in the fifth minute of overtime [

PLAYERS TO WATCH....
For ERAU....seven Eagles were named to All-SSC teams in 2021, including Foyer (Second Team), Myhrvold Seim (First Team), and Munthe Nillson (Second Team). Defender Anita Agustdottir (First Team) was selected as Defensive Player of the Year. Isabell Navren (First Team), Saba Amiri (Second Team), and Hattie Kettle (Freshman of the Year) round out Embry-Riddle’s award winners.
For Florida Tech...All-SSC second-teamers Ndiongue and Queiroz Reiz account for all three of FT’s goals so far this postseason. Defender Jordan Michaels and Sanchez Recuero earned First Team All-Conference honors.
RECENT MATCHUP & TOURNAMENT HISTORY….
Embry-Riddle owns a three-game winning streak over Florida Tech, along with a 3-1-2 overall advantage dating back to 2015. The upcoming match is the first meeting between the Eagles and the Panthers in the history of the SSC playoffs. ERAU returns to the title game for the second time. The Eagles were seeded #4 in 2019 when they took a 1-1 tie with #2 Rollins to penalty kicks, advancing 4-3. Florida Tech is looking forward to their third title game. As the #2 seed in 2010, the Panthers fell to #4 Tampa, 1-0, in overtime. In 2017, #6 Florida Tech became the lowest seed to win the tournament, besting #5 Tampa, 4-2, in penalty kicks, following a 0-0 double-overtime tie.
