MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Sunshine State Conference announces the league's 2010-11 to 2019-20 Women's Swimming All-Decade honors. Voters named sixteen student-athletes from five programs as All-Decade. Florida Southern College Alum, Alli Crenshaw, is voted as Swimmer of the Decade. Nova Southeastern University's Ben Hewitt is awarded Coach of the Decade accolades. All-Decade voting took place among the league's administrators and swimming coaches.

Crenshaw garners Swimmer of the Decade honors after four years competing for the Moccasins' women's program. The Marietta, Georgia native led Florida Southern to four Top-15 finishes at the NCAA meet while collecting a total of 13 First Team All-America honors across seven events from 2012-13 to 2015-16. She was crowned NCAA champion in the 1000 Freestyle twice (2013, 2014) and once in the 1650 Freestyle (2013). Crenshaw was the SSC Swimmer of the Year twice and a First Team all-conference member four times. She was named Swimmer of the Meet following the 2014 league championship and won a combined seven individual SSC titles.

Voters selected NSU's Hewitt as the SSC Coach of the Decade. From 2016-20 he has piloted the Sharks to three SSC Championships and three NCAA Championship Top-4 finishes. Hewitt's teams have produced 25 All-SSC selections, three league Swimmers of the Year, and 28 All-Americans. He earned SSC Coach of the Year honors in 2017, 2018, and 2020.

The SSC All-Decade awards include the last seven SSC Swimmer of the Year honorees and all five individual national champions from the league between 2010-11 and 2019-20. In addition to Crenshaw, four women earned All-SSC First Team honors four times: Courtney DeVeny and Malin Westman from Nova Southeastern, Heather Glenday from Tampa, and Natalia Garriock from Saint Leo.

SSC Women's Swimming from 2010-11 to 2019-20

Swimming became a Sunshine State Conference sport on April 7th, 2010. In the decade since, three SSC programs have hoisted the SSC championship trophy, led by Nova Southeastern with five titles. Tampa follows with four conference titles, and Florida Southern owns one trophy. Seven women have combined for the league's 13 individual national championships, while Tampa's 800 Freestyle Relay from 2012-13 remains the only league relay team to win an NCAA championship trophy. Nova Southeastern (10), Tampa (10), Florida Southern (9), Lynn (7), Saint Leo (5), and Rollins (2) have combined for 43 team scoring performances at the NCAA championship meet during the decade. Conference teams have combined for 12 Top-10 finishes at the National Championship, led by NSU's third-place performances in 2018.
