WINTER PARK, Fla. – Rollins Director of Athletics Pennie Parker has announced the hiring of Christine Roser-LeFevers as the 10th coach in the history of the Rollins Softball program. Christine rejoins the Tars after a standout playing career for Rollins from 2008-2011. She will head to Winter Park from Charlotte, North Carolina, after previously working as the Associate Head Softball Coach at Queens University.
Parker said, "We are thrilled to welcome Christine as our new head coach. She was a standout student-athlete for us, and I am confident she will lead us into new chapters of success."
Prior to rejoining Queens in June of 2021, Roser-LeFevers guided Mars Hill to a 14-23 record during the 2021 campaign. She oversaw the development of a pair of All-South Atlantic Conference honorees. She was also at the helm of the Lions program during the pandemic shortened 2020 season.
Christine's first stint with the Queens Royals began in 2015. Over the following four years, she would help guide the team to their most successful seasons in program history. Queens made three consecutive South Atlantic Conference Championship appearances and one NCAA DII Southeast Regional appearance. In 2018, the Royals registered 35 wins, the most in program history, while also earning their first-ever national ranking. Roser-LeFevers also coached 11 NFCA Academic All-Americans, 12 All-SAC players, three SAC All-Tournament team honorees, and two Academic All-District selections.
Before making her way to North Carolina, Christine served as an assistant coach at Seminole State College. She coached the team to a 51-9 overall record and a No. 4 overall ranking in the final NJCAA Poll of the 2015 season. Her first coaching position was as a graduate assistant at the University of West Alabama in 2012 and 2013.
As a standout player with the Tars, Christine will go down as one of the most decorated softball players in Rollins history. She won three Sunshine State Conference Championships and participated in the NCAA Tournament every year of her college career. She was a three-time All-American, twice earning spots on the First Team. The Winter Springs, Florida native was twice named Diamond National Catcher of the Year and was named First Team All-SSC every season. Roser-LeFevers bookended her career with SSC Freshman of the Year honors in 2008 and the SSC Player of the Year Award in 2011. She left Rollins as the program leader in hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, and runs scored. She graduated in 2011 with a degree in psychology.
"It is an honor of a lifetime to be named the Head Softball Coach at Rollins College. Having been a student-athlete and experiencing Rollins for four years, it has always been a dream of mine to take on this endeavor," Christine said. "Rollins College is home for me. This is an extremely talented group of young ladies, and I'm so excited to impact them both as athletes and as people. The program has historically been very successful, and I hope to continue on that path while taking the team to new heights and also building a dynamic and impactful culture. I want to thank Pennie Parker and Rollins College for this amazing opportunity. Go Tars!"
