MELBOURNE, Fla. - [PDF Bracket] - The Sunshine State Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament begins with semifinal matchups on Thursday, April 25th. All three games in this year's tournament will be hosted by the higher seed and broadcasted on the Sunshine State Conference Digital Network.
Lynn University claims the No. 1 seed in the postseason tournament after winning the regular season championship. The Fighting Knights and the University of Tampa Spartans both finished 6-1 in league play, but Lynn won the head-to-head matchup, 11-10, in Tampa. No. 1 Lynn will host No. 4 Saint Leo University, while No. 2 Tampa square up against No. 3 Rollins College. The Tars and the Lions both finished at 4-3 in SSC play; however Rollins defeated Saint Leo, 11-10, at home.
Since men's lacrosse became a league sport in 2014, an SSC team has made the NCAA tournament. Tampa was the lone representative for the conference from 2014 to 2017, reaching the semifinals three times in that span. Last season, Saint Leo defeated Tampa in a first-round overtime thriller. The Lions followed with a win over Lenoir-Rhyne University in the semifinals and fell to Merrimack College in the championship.
