WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - [PDF Bracket | MSOC Tournament Page] - Palm Beach Atlantic University men's soccer defeated Barry University, 1-0, on Sunday, November 4th to claim the school's first SSC postseason championship in any sport. The 2018 Sailfish become the sixth team to win both the SSC tournament and regular season title in the same season.
Strong defenses and aggressive play are how the 2018 SSC Men's Soccer Championship Tournament finale will be remembered. Marc Hebbeker was the difference maker as he headed in the game-winner off a pass from Juan Pablo Puelma in the 66th minute. The Sailfish and Buccaneers combined for 19 shots and 17 corner kicks, but the strength of both defenses kept the score low. The 1-0 finish stands lowest scoring SSC title game to finish in regulation, and second lowest overall since the tournament was reinstated in 2003. -
