2017 SSC Women’s Golf All-Conference Awards
MELBOURNE, Fla. - Ten student-athletes have earned 2017 Sunshine State Conference women's golf All-Conference honors. Marie Coors of Saint Leo University repeats as Golfer of the Year. Barry University's Charlotte Puts earns Freshman of the Year and Shannon Sykora is named Coach of the Year.
Voting for the All-SSC Women's Golf Team was conducted among the league's women's golf coaches.

Coors is named Golfer of the Year after finishing Top-7 in all 10 of her tournaments this season. The Gross-Zimmern, Germany native had two individual wins during 2016-17, the first came in February at the Lady Moc Classic and the second in April at the Lady Panther Invitational. Coors posted a season stroke average of 71.64 with a season low of 66 in the final round of the Lady Panther Invite last month. Coors remains the only Lion to win Golfer of the Year and is the fifth SSC golfer to win the award twice

Puts earns Freshman of the Year honors following two first place finishes during the season. The Buccaneer freshman began the season with a victory at the Ross Resorts Classic in September. The Weert, Netherlands native then shot her way to medalist honors at the 2017 SSC Championship. Puts has five Top-5 finishes across eight tournaments in 2016-17. Puts is the second Buccaneer to win Freshman of the Year

Sykora is selected SSC Coach of the Year by his peers. Under his leadership, the No. 1 ranked Buccaneers squad tallied three team victories
3 and finished no lower than fifth during the 2016-17 season. Sykora is the first Barry women's golf coach to be named SSC Coach of the Year.
Coors, Tilda Larsson (Barry), and Brittany LaPadula (Florida Tech) earn First Team accolades for the second consecutive year. Lexie Toth (Rollins) is named Second Team for a third straight year. Amanda Jakobsson (Saint Leo) moves up to Second Team after being selected Honorable Mention in 2016.
