Both the all-conference team and individual award winners were chosen through voting conducted among head coaches and sports information directors at the nine SSC member institutions.

First-team All-SSC selections included forwards Cerroni, Ricardo Cardoso (Tampa) and Asmir Pervan (Saint Leo); midfielders Henry Apaloo (Barry), Tres Loch (Rollins) and Carl Wallace (Lynn); defenders Jackson, Anthony Santiago (Rollins) and Devin Shaw (Tampa); goalkeeper Tim Melia (Lynn); and at-large selection Allen.

Five players earned honorable mention including defenders Jack Clifford (Rollins), John Fletcher (Eckerd), Emil Kumlin (Florida Southern) and Brian Lundy (Florida Tech), as well as midfielder Nano Short (Lynn).

Cerroni, a senior from Bexleyheath, U.K., saved the most productive season of his four-year career for last. A former Sunshine State Conference Freshman of the Year who is also a four-time All-SSC selection, twice on the first team, Cerroni is the centerpiece of a Tar offense that ranks third in total offense in NCAA Division II. He currently leads the SSC with 16 goals and 40 total points, and is also tied for third place in the SSC with eight assists, which ranks third on his team. In addition, Cerroni leads all SSC players with five game-winning goals. For his career, Cerroni currently ranks fourth at Rollins with 46 goals, is tied for eighth with 25 assists and stands fourth with 117 total points.

Jackson, a junior from Bloxwich, England, is the cornerstone of a back line that has yielded an SSC-low eight goals in 15 matches, the fifth-lowest rate in NCAA Division II this year. As the anchor of the Fighting Knights’ defense, Jackson has played a key part in authoring an SSC-best nine shutouts, which stands fifth among NCAA Division II teams this season.

Allen, a freshman from Castel, Guernsey, U.K., has been a welcome addition to the Florida Tech program, which won six games in 2006, the most by a Panther team since 1999. Allen currently leads all SSC freshmen and stands tied for second place among all SSC players with 14 goals and 32 total points. His four assists also ranks second among Florida Tech players.

Buckley, in his 16th season as head coach at his alma mater, is being recognized as SSC Coach of the Year for the fourth time, making him just one of three men’s soccer coaches in SSC history to be recognized with the award four times. Under his guidance, the 2006 SSC Tournament Champion Tars currently sport a 13-5-0 overall record and enter NCAA postseason play just two wins shy of matching the program’s record of 15 wins set back in 1994. The longest-tenured men’s soccer coach in Rollins history, Buckley has assembled a career record of 178-95-16 (.644), the most wins by a head coach in program history.
