Barry’s Hernandez and McAllister Named Baseball Players of the Week
Barry's Yudelmis Hernandez and Brad McAllister have been selected Sunshine State Conference Baseball Players of the Week for the period ending March 8.
 | PLAYER OF THE WEEK -- Barry senior 1B Yudelmis Hernandez (Miami, Fla.) led the No. 27 Buccaneers to four wins on the week, including a three-game sweep over No. 13 Lynn in the SSC opener. Hernandez batted .571 with eight RBI and six runs. He hit safely in all four games and tallied multiple hits in two. In a 4-0 win in the opener against the Knights, he went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. In a 19-2 second-game victory, he was 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, and four RBI. In an 8-3 win in the finale, he delivered another late homer to put the game out of reach. In four contests, Hernandez notched a 1.143 slugging percentage, a .667 OBP, and a .935 fielding percentage. |
 | PITCHER OF THE WEEK -- Barry freshman Brad McAllister (St. Petersburg, Fla.) tossed a complete-game shutout in a 4-0 series-opening win over No. 13 Lynn. Facing one of the most potent offenses in the SSC, McAllister allowed six hits and one walk over nine innings. He struck out seven. |
