SSC Sends Four Teams to 2015 NCAA Volleyball Tournament
Tampa, Florida Southern, Saint Leo, and Eckerd make the cut
MELBOURNE, Fla. - [
Bracket / Tournament Central]- The Sunshine State Conference is represented in the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Tournament by No. 3 University of Tampa, No. 21 Florida Southern College, Saint Leo University, and Eckerd College. The bracket was announced Monday, November 23rd.
No. 2 seed Tampa (26-5, 15-1) was crowned Sunshine State Conference Regular Season Champions for the 11th consecutive season, 25th time overall. The Spartans will take on No. 7 seed Eckerd (17-13, 7-9). UT won both meetings between the squads this season by a score of 3-1.
Florida Southern (23-8, 9-7) is granted the No. 3 seed in the regional and will take on No. 6 seed North Alabama (26-7). The two teams last met on October 17th, 2014 in Lakeland where Moccasins defeated UNA, 3-0.
Saint Leo (20-10, 10-6) is tabbed as the No. 4 seed in the region and will face No. 5 West Florida (28-6). The two teams last met on October 17th, 2014 in Lakeland where Lions defeated UWF, 3-2.
SSC provisional member, Palm Beach Atlantic (26-4), will host the tournament and has earned the No. 1 seed. PBA will square off against No. 8 seed Kentucky St.
