Chris Payne – Florida Tech Men’s Soccer (1987-1991)
A member of Florida Tech’s 1988 NCAA Division II National Championship team, Payne established records that still stand today. He still holds the NCAA DII and SSC career records for assists (87). He also holds the Division II and SSC single-season assist marks (46). Payne is one of only two players in DII history to score 100 points in a season, notching 27 goals and 46 assists in 1990. In 1990, he was named first-team All-SSC, All-South Region, and All-American. He was an All-SSC second-team honoree in 1988 and 1989. Payne was inducted into the Florida Tech Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996. He was selected to the SSC Silver Anniversary Men’s Soccer Team.
