Pete Meyer | Florida Southern College | Head Baseball Coach & Athletic Director | 1998-2019
Pete Meyer led Florida Southern College baseball from 2002 to 2008 and again from 2011 to 2012, guiding the Moccasins to the 2005 NCAA National Championship. He was named Athletic Director in 2008, serving in that role through 2019, and was inducted into the FSC Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018.
As head coach, Meyer developed more than 40 MLB signees, compiled a 308-139-1 record, and led the team to six NCAA Tournaments. Taking over midseason in 2002, he immediately guided the Mocs to a Regional Championship and a fifth-place national finish.
His pinnacle came in 2005 with a 51-11 record and a sweep of the SSC, South Region, and NCAA titles—just the third such feat in program history.
As Athletic Director, Meyer presided over a golden era of Moccasin success. FSC won four NCAA team championships—men’s golf in 2010 and 2017, men’s basketball in 2015, and women’s lacrosse in 2016—along with 15 individual national titles.
His tenure produced 33 SSC crowns, seven NCAA Elite 90 winners, more than 40 Academic All-Americans, and two SSC Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
Meyer also expanded opportunities for student-athletes by launching seven new sports, including men’s and women’s track, men’s and women’s lacrosse, equestrian, beach volleyball, and eSports.
