Christina Rolla | Lynn University | Softball | 2004-06

Christina Rolla was a dominant student athlete for Lynn University’s softball team and the Sunshine State Conference during a career which spanned from 2004-06.  From the time she first stepped foot on campus until her retirement from professional softball in 2012, she established herself as a force to be reckoned with in both the classroom and the field.

She graduated with a bachelor of science in hospitality administration while posting a cumulative grade point average of 3.64.  Rolla was further recognized for her academic accomplishments by garnering SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll accolades all three years with the Fighting Knights.

In addition to distinguishing herself as a student, Rolla the athlete was even more impressive. Her 2005 season was one for the ages as her 25 home runs were at the time second-most in NCAA Division II history and her 73 RBIs were 17th.  Rolla became one of the most feared hitters in the vaunted SSC, posting Lynn records in batting average, home runs, runs batted in, runs scored, total bases, on-base, and slugging percentage.

Rolla collected numerous hardware during her playing career, including being named a First Team All-American, SSC Player of the Year, a SSC Silver Anniversary honoree and a three-time All-SSC selection.

Following her stellar college career, Rolla began playing for the Italian National Softball Team and moved on to a professional softball league in Italy.  She guided Italy to the 2007 European Championship while being honored as the Most Valuable Player. Rolla led two teams to four Italian Cup Championships and was twice recognized as an MVP.
