Daniela Iacobelli | Florida Tech | Golf | 2005-09
One of the most prolific student-athletes in Florida Tech Athletics history, Daniela Iacobelli cemented her status among the FIT elite over a four-year career. She finished with eight total tournament victories and set numerous program records. She won the NCAA Individual National Championship in 2007. Today, it still stands as the only individual national championship in F.I.T. history.
As a freshman in 2005-06, Iacobelli won the first tournament she competed in, and then went on to record three more top-five finishes that season. For her play, Iacobelli was named SSC Women’s Freshman Golfer of the Year.
In 2006-07, Iacobelli placed in the Top-10 seven times including victories at the SSC Championship and NCAA National Championship.
As a junior in 2007-08, she earned victories at the Saint Leo’s Invitational and the Panther Invitational. The wins were part of her five top-10 finishes that season. Following the season, she was named Florida Tech’s Female Athlete of the Year.
Iacobelli put together another outstanding year as a senior in 2008-09 to earn First Team All-SSC. In the 11 tournaments she took part in, Iacobelli carded two victories and finished outside the Top-6 only once.
