Norm Kaye - Saint Leo College, Sunshine State Conference Founder
Kaye has been a coach, an athletic director and founding father of the Sunshine State Conference. He was executive director of the SSC for six years and served as commissioner for 18 months (1985-86). He led the way for the formation of conference sports for women and acquired the first automatic bid for men's basketball to the NCAA tournament. He was athletic director and chairperson of the Physical Education Department at Saint Leo for 25 years. He was baseball coach for two years and men's basketball coach for 12 years. He holds the school record for most wins in basketball and his 1970-71 team posted the best record ever to that point at 16-7. He was responsible for the growth and development of the athletic programs and facilities for the Monarchs and developed the school's intramural program and teaching training program in PE.
