Chris (Schmitt) Casey - Rollins College, Soccer
Casey was the first Tars' soccer player to be named All-American and the first SSC player to be drafted by the professional ranks (Washington Diplomats of the NASL). He played one year of professional soccer. He was All-South Region four times (1971-74) and played in the East-West All-Star game as a senior. Casey was awarded the Sullivan Award for community involvement and campus leadership. He is considered the top midfielder of all time for the Tars. He was captain his senior year. Casey spent over ten years in overseas development in Africa and is currently the Peace Corps/Botswana associate director for programming and training.
