John Castino - Rollins College, Baseball
Castino is widely considered the best baseball player in Rollins' history. He played three years for the Tars from 1974-76 and is still in the Top 10 in nine career statistical categories/ He's the all-time leader in runs batted in (170), triples (18) and slugging percentage (.620). He led the Tars to a 93-51-1 record and three Division II post-season tournaments...The Minnesota Twins drafted him in 1976. He was named the American League Rookie of the Year in 1979 and played six years with the Twins before a back injury prematurely ended his career. He returned to Rollins in 1985 and earned a degree in Area Studies and earned his master's degree from St. Thomas College.
