Boyd Coffie - Rollins College, Baseball Coach
The 1959 graduate of Rollins was a two-time, NAIA All-American as a catcher on the baseball team and an All-State baseball and basketball player for the Tars. Coffie played pro baseball in the New York Yankees' farm system, reaching the AAA level before retiring to become a manager in the Minnesota Twins' organization. He was chosen Manager of the Year all three years he coached in pro baseball and two of his teams won league championships. He coached basketball, baseball and cross country at Rollins. Coffie is best known for his baseball accomplishments, as he coached for 20 years and had a 586-419 record. Coffie was a two-time Diamond Club Florida Baseball Coach of the Year, three-time South Region Coach of the Year and was chosen the Sunshine State Conference Coach of the Year four times. Coffie, who resides in Orlando, is Director of Player Development for the Cleveland Indians' minor league system.
