Emmet was a four-time NCAA, Division II All-America (1985-88) in both singles and doubles. He was the 1987 Division II national champion in singles. He was a four-time, SSC champion in singles and doubles and was chosen to the All-Conference team in both divisions four times. He was ranked No. 1 in the nation in singles and doubles in Division II in 1987 and 1988. Emmet, who was an honors graduate and earned his master's degree at Rollins Crummer Graduate School of Business, was the 1987 Rolex national small college champion in 1987 and won the 1987 ITCA South Region championship. He was one of six players honored nationally as an All-America in 1987 by the ITCA.
