Bob Tewksbury - Saint Leo University, Baseball
As a pitcher at Saint Leo College, Tewksbury was 21-8 with a 2.85 ERA, and was named All-SSC twice. That record made Tewksbury good enough to be drafted by the New York Yankees in 1981. The Concord, NH native made his major league debut in 1986 as a Yankee, and went on to pitch for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres, and Minnesota Twins. Tewksbury was the starting pitcher for the National League in the 1992 All-Star Game, and was chosen as the top player on the team that year by the St. Louis chapter of the Baseball Writers of America Association. He is considered one of the all-time best control pitchers, having allowed only 292 walks in 1,807 innings. Tewksbury finished his career in 1998 with a record of 110-102 and an ERA of 3.92.
