Johanna Fischer – Barry Women’s Soccer (2000-04)
Fischer led the Buccaneers to four straight SSC titles, earning first-team All-SSC each of those years. She led the league in goals against average each of those seasons. Fischer ties for first in SSC history with 40 career shutouts and 14 shutouts in a single season. In 2002, she led NCAA Division II in shutout percentage, posting 14 in 19 matches. She was an NSCAA All-American in 2002 and earned All-South Region honors three times. Fischer led the Bucs to the NCAA tournament each of her four seasons, including a semifinal berth in 2000 and the Elite Eight in 2003. One of her finest outings came in the South Region final in 2003, where she stopped four of five penalty kick shootout attempts against No. 1-ranked and defending national champion Christian Brothers to send BU to the NCAA quarterfinals. Fischer concluded her career with a 0.70 goals against average, 58 wins, and a .815 winning percentage. She was also impressive in the classroom, earning a spot on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll each of her four years.
