A total of 33 student-athletes have been named to the 2012 All-Sunshine State Conference Baseball Team.  Nova Southeastern’s Carlos Asuaje and Lynn’s Anthony Boza shared Player of the Year honors.  Tampa’s Sean Bierman was named Pitcher of the Year.  Saint Leo’s Brendan Collins was tabbed Freshman of the Year.  Lynn’s Rudy Garbalosa and Tampa’s Joe Urso shared Coach of the Year accolades.

Three SSC teams received bids to participate in the NCAA Division II Baseball South Region Championship, which will be hosted by top-seeded Tampa May 17-21.  The Spartans will be joined by Lynn and Nova Southeastern in the field.

One home run proved to be the difference in Saturday's second game of the NCAA Division II Softball South Super Regional, with No. 1 Valdosta State downing sixth-seeded Florida Southern 2-0 to advance to the NCAA Division II Softball Championship.
