SSC Standings

The following procedures are used in the calculation of the standings that appear on the SSC website.

Standings are generated at the end of each night by the database that powers the website. 

In volleyball, baseball, and softball, the standings are sorted first by conference win percentage, and then by overall win percentage.

Throughout the regular season, soccer standings are sorted first by conference points, and then overall win percentage.

Throughout the regular season, basketball and tennis standings are sorted first by conference win percentage, and then by overall win percentage.

Tiebreaking procedures manually applied for SSC tournament seedings will only be reflected in the conference standings once all games (including any NCAA tournament games) have been completed for that sport.  Until that point, the database will continue to generate standings in the manner noted above.  At the conclusion of a sport's season, final standings will be manually manipulated to reflect the seeding that resulted from application of any tiebreakers.

For the soccer, basketball, and tennis tournaments, team seeds will be readily available in any pre-event releases and on the "Tournament Central" page for each sport.
